Lotus Nelson Manta Exige

I worked for this company for a long time and had a big glass cabinet in my office with various products they made. Among all of the genuine products I had this faux Nail Gun with a big coil of nails that often caught peoples eye. If it was real you would not need this for roofing or drywalling, but you know for sure that any red blooded man wants a big feck off nail gun that looks like a machine gun in their tool kit.. grrrr.

This started out life while I was between projects in the garage and boredom gave way to this idea while staring at this Rayevn NERF gun and trying to justify, as an adult, buying one for myself, beacuse it was really cool looking :) It was originalyl going to be a Dewalt drill, but the Nail Gun idea quickly replaced that.

What you may not notice initially is that this NERF gun has a pattern on every flat surface that provides a grippy texture. This has to be sanded off so it looks less like plastic and  more like a metal casting when it is painted and thats quite a bit of work.

The grips and body of the gun are a one piece moulding, so it needed to be masked and each part painted seperately.

Then the metal effects are added subtely only to the parts that could be imagined to be metal if this were real.

The Dewalt stickers are from real faulty Dewalt products I had laying around, the drum magazine is from another NERF model, but looked too cool, not to add. The gun still functions as a NERF gun
